He knows

John 11:32-36 ESV

“Now when Mary came to where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet, saying to him, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled. And he said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.” Jesus wept. So the Jews said, “See how he loved him!”

Make no mistake, yes Jesus loved Lazarus, but no more than He loves You and me when we are in right fellowship with Him. But Jesus was not weeping for Lazarus, He knew that state of being was about to change. Jesus was weeping because He has great compassion. His compassion is the same for you and me, He loves us so much, He hurts when we hurt. When we are distressed, anxious, troubled, sorrowful and downcast, He is not just catching our tears, He is wiping away our tears. I can sense the arms of God around some this morning that are troubled in their hearts and minds. He will do what no other can do. He is greater than any sorrow, sickness, disease, or even arthritis.

Prayer:

Lord, You see the pains of my flesh, You see the sorrows of my heart for my children, and grandchildren and those that I love. You are not far from me, as David said, “I saw the Lord always before me; for He is at my right hand, so that I will not be shaken,” (Psalm 16:8). Lord, thank You for Your love and compassion. Thank You for Your arms around me, thank You because I know that You understand the flesh and all that we go through. I have not suffered as You did, but You are still sympathetic to my pains mentally and physically. Thank You Lord Jesus, Amen!
