Lord, I Believe

John 11:23-27 ESV

“Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”

Martha was far in her faith because she believed even more than some of His own disciples believed. She believed when Jesus taught them about the resurrection of the dead before He comes again. She believed when Jesus told them about eternal Life. She believed He possessed all the power of God; she just did know that He could raise the dead. If she had believed before, maybe she wouldn’t have been in such grief.

We have read and heard all that Jesus said and did, do we believe He is the resurrection and the Life (eternal life)? Do we believe He has more power than our enemy? Do we believe that nothing can stop Him from fulfilling all of God’s plans? Do we believe that God has specific plans for each and everyone of us collectively and individually? Then when we are faced with grief and sorrows, we may not see the dead rise from the grave, but we can believe that God still has plans for us to fulfill and He will give all of His power to help us fulfill those plans if we will believe.

Prayer:

Lord, I believe, all things are possible with You. There is no one greater than the Father, You, the Son, or the Holy Spirit, all things are possible with You. Lord, fulfill Your plan in me and through me. In Your Mighty name, Amen!
