For Such a Time as This
Esther 4:14 ESV
“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
Mordecai told Esther to go to the King, her husband, and tell him about the decree that would kill all of the Jews in the kingdom. Esther did not want to go for fear of the King. Mordecia spoke to her this prophecy that we have read today.
First, God will deliver His people, make no mistake about that. Second, do nothing will affect us, whether we like it or not. Third, how do we know that God has not chosen us for this hour, whether it is hard or not, this may be our moment to make a difference.
We can all relate to Esther’s plight at one time or another in our lives. Difficulties come to us or our family and we have to make a decision: Do nothing and live with the consequences, or do the hard thing and stand up for justice and what is right.
Prayer:
Lord, Jesus, you are our protector and our vindication, that is true, but you often have to use us to step in and deal with situations that we can handle in the natural, but empowered by the Holy Spirit at the same time. There will be times where we will have to stand up for justice and truth. Strengthen us in these times. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask for Your strength, Amen!
