Accountability 

Revelation 2:23b

“…I am He who searches the minds and hearts [the innermost thoughts, purposes]; and I will give to each one of you [a reward or punishment] according to your deeds.”

First I have to say that God is a just God. In that regard, He will reward those who have believed, confessed their sins, confessed Him as Lord, obeyed, and followed what He has asked of them. He will also have to judge those who have disobeyed, rejected Him as Lord and Savior, and rejected His call. Hollywood has it wrong that everyone goes to heaven. That’s not true, as a matter-of-fact Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

According to our scripture today, Jesus knows our innermost thoughts and purposes, so there is a call to get our thoughts, actions and motives in line to bring glory to God and to serve Him the way He asked us to serve Him.

Prayer:

Lord, help us to walk before You with an open heart, a willing Spirit, and a God filled mind. In Your name Lord Jesus we ask, Amen!
