Removing the Obstacles

Matthew 19:14 ESV

“…But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

Children were trying to get to Jesus, but the disciples were trying to keep them away from Jesus because they saw children as insignificant. If there was one clear message from Jesus it is everyone is accessible to the kingdom of God, everyone is accessible to Jesus. Most of us probably thought at one time or another that we were not worthy of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ or the power that raised Him from the dead, but our redemption was for those who would believe, rich or poor, old or young, simple or brilliant. Jesus also said that the kingdom belonged to such as the children, or to those who come to Him without reservation, without doubt, without apprehension. The children served as an example that all who would believe and trust Him were accessible to the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Prayer:

Lord, give us child like faith to trust and believe in You. Our approach to You must be humble, not brash as if we deserve grace, but with child like faith we come to You expecting Your open arms. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
