Service to the Lord
Philippians 2:17 NIV
“But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.”
Most of us can think back through the years of those people who worked in the church tirelessly. The usher that was always there to greet and to hand out bulletins. The people that came in before the service to be sure that the carpet was clean and every room had what was needed to make things perfect. The ladies that would prepare meals, and men and ladies that would set up tables and chairs for afterglow meals. Those that run the lights and sound systems. All the people that teach and care for the children. The people set up for special events. The people that came in to pray for the church and the services. These people worked tirelessly and without any fanfare. Why did they do it? To further the kingdom of God. We don’t see it as ministry, but it is. Typically we give all the credit to those in front of the people, but it takes a village to make the church run smoothly. Paul was thrilled to serve, He loved being a part of the process. I guarantee there were many men and women who worked along side of Him without any recognition. To those people, we bow in honor of their labors and sacrifices to further the kingdom.
Prayer:
Lord, bless greatly those who serve in any capacity to be sure that the church runs smoothly. Bless and prosper them for their humility and grace and for their willingness to further the kingdom of God. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
