The Handiwork of God

Psalms 19:1-4 ESV

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.  There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun…”

In Florida, people complain about the heat of the sun. The sun gravitational pull keeps the earth in orbit. The solar heat moves the air, ocean currents, and creates the wind. The heat from the sun creates evaporation, which creates condensation, which creates precipitation which waters the earth. With this precipitation the rivers, streams, and oceans are fed. The precipitation cools the earth, and we get a break from the heat all the while the plants keep growing and the trees from which we get fresh oxygen.

Even without God saying a word, this happens every day, every year, for thousands of years. “The heavens declare the glory of God.”

Prayer:

Lord, You are amazing, Your creation is amazing. The intricacy and the power of all that we take for granted is amazing. The stars and the heavens are praising You continuously. The earth and all that You created declares Your glory. We as Your greatest creation declare Your glory, Lord. In Your precious name, Lord Jesus, amen.
