For God’s Glory

1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV

“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

While the verse arose from a specific issue concerning food offered to idols in Corinth, it serves as a general rule for all aspects of life. The mention of eating and drinking, everyday ordinary actions, signifies that even the smallest details of a believer’s life should be directed toward God’s glory. It is a universal principle for all Christians, regardless of their individual rights or freedoms, to have a mindset of glorifying God in everything. Listen to what Paul is saying; “…whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” It is for God’s glory that we are here, living out our lives for His glory as a testimony to others. Live and move purposefully, do everything on the purpose of being a living testimony of who God is and what He has done for us.

Prayer:

Lord, it is for Your glory that we are here. You placed us where we are to effect lives around us for Your glory. Our circle of friends and family, You have placed in our lives to bring them a testimony of who You are to us. Today, let us shine for You. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
