Never Alone
Psalms 37:23-24 AMP
“The steps of a [good and righteous] man (or woman) are directed and established by the Lord, And He delights in his (or her) way [and blesses his (or her) path]. When he (or she) falls, he (or she) will not be hurled down, Because the Lord is the One who holds his (or her) hand and sustains him (or her).”
The first thing that should happen this morning and every morning is that we ask God to order our footsteps for today. We typically march out into the day with our list of things to do or directives and we get started. If we see where God wants us and what He would have us to do, David says that our way will be established or has been established, (set in motion a long time ago).
Why did God do that? Because He delights in opening doors that we need to walk through and at times He needs to close doors that we no longer need to walk through.
David says that God is the One who holds our hand, and He will not allow us to fall and stay down. Sometimes we do fall but God is our Rock, He will not allow us to be thrown off course, stumbling and bumbling through life. David says that God will sustain us, what does that look like?
It means that God holds us up, strengthens us, encourages us, supports us and provides for us. It means that God is what we need every day to show us His way and walk with Him.
Inquire what God would have you do today!
Prayer:
Lord thank You that we are never alone. Thank You for ordering our footsteps, now give us the courage to walk the way You have provided. Thank You for holding our hands and not allowing us to stumble through this life. Thank You for Your support, Your strength and Your protection and provisions. Amen!
