Perception

Matthew 6:22-23 ESV

“The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!”

The way we see every situation, those thoughts are tied to our heart and character.

When people see a situation and think “how this is going to work in my favor,” or “I can do something with this situation,” or even better they say, “I can’t wait to see what God does with this.” Their perception is seeing the positive, even in situations that look negative.

When people see a situation and say, “this is going to end up bad,” or “this is going to hurt me,” they just see the negative in those situations. Even though they know God can make a miracle out of a mess, their perception is dark or negative.

Perception is everything! How we see situations in our lives affects our heart and spirit, and it taints our character.

Today, let our eyes be healthy to see the positive even in negative situations. Allow Jesus to be in control and give Him room to work, as a matter of fact, ask Him to take every situation and use it for His glory.

Prayer:

Lord, we don’t want to be negative people and always see the bad in every situation. In fact, we want to see You work and move in our lives. So, we want You to give us 20/20 spiritual vision to see every situation as an opportunity for You to move in our lives and in the lives of our family. In Your name Lord Jesus, we give You our spiritual eyes and hearts, Amen!
