Road Blocks

1 Samuel 17: 28, 33,41-44 NIV
“When Eliab, David’s oldest brother, heard him speaking with the men, he burned with anger at him and asked, “Why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness?

Saul replied, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth.” …the Philistine, (Goliath)…kept coming closer to David. He looked David over and saw that he was little more than a boy…He said to David, “Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?” And the Philistine (Goliath) cursed David by his gods. “Come here,” he said, “and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals!”

Three times, on the way to fight with Goliath, people tried to discourage David from his destiny. He was belittled by his brother, downplayed by King Saul and mocked by Goliath and then he had to fight Goliath. This victory propelled David to his destiny.

On the road to our destiny, the evil one will try and discourage us, berate us, cause us to fear, anything to stop us from reaching our potential in Jesus Christ. Persevere, press on, push through, Satan does not have the power to stop you and me, not if God has set our course and our destiny is ahead of us. Don’t allow words, or people stop you. Look to Jesus and keep moving forward.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, strengthen us, empower us to push through every road block the enemy puts in our way. Do not let other people’s words or actions stop us from completing all that You have for us to do. We serve You Lord, the Master of all things, the one who conquers over all. Move us into Your destiny, Amen!
