God’s Love Carries Us Through
Isaiah 54:10 NLT
“For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you.”
Chapter 54 of Isaiah is such a beautiful chapter. After God had disciplined Israel, He calls them back and offers love, forgiveness, and a rebuilding. Often, we find ourselves in this life in a rebuilding stage.
As youth we make mistakes, and we end up suffering for decisions we have made. We are young and mostly do not realize what is going on when God is trying to direct us back into right relationship with Him.
As we get older, consequences become more real, and we understand mistakes and having to adjust to counter our mistakes. Looking to God is the best thing we can do, but mostly, at this age, we try and work things out on our own.
We get married and have a family and often do not realize that when working with another human being in close proximity that it can be a challenge and things happen in these challenges. Hopefully we can work through these times with prayer and love and grow together. We begin to build on God’s foundation.
As we get to be a bit older, we realize that life has gone by so quickly and we are now living with the choices that we have made. It’s not over, my God is bigger than anything that I have done or did not do. In this passage, God says, “…the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain.” Take that promise and hold on to it as if you had just found a pound of gold.
God continues by saying, “My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you.” God is about to do a new thing, no matter what stage of life that you or I may be in. Keep Your heart with God, allow Him to move and He will make rivers in the desert. (He will do what most think is impossible.) (Reference Isaiah 43:19)
Prayer:
Lord God, let me realize that I am never too young or too old to see You do new things in my life. Help me to stay in the clef of the rock and only see with my eyes when things seem to fall apart, that You are still with me. (You will still overshadow me and hide me in the palm of Your hands. Then You will bring me out to let me receive Your destiny and fulfillment for my life. In Your Righteous Holy name, Amen!
