Inherit the Land
Psalms 37:9-10 ESV
“For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land. In just a little while, the wicked will be no more; though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there.”
The children of Israel coming out of slavery in Egypt did not learn this lesson. They rejected God as their vindicator, and deliverer. So, for their rebellion they did not inherit the promised land, but their innocent children did inherit the promised land (another promise for waiting on God).
For us today, we need to learn a valuable lesson; rejecting God is rejecting His promises to us. I know that is harsh, but true.
Jesus told Nicodemus, in John 3:3, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” That means to inherit all that He has for us, we have to receive Him and believe in Him. All of His promises and His inheritance belongs to us.
Verse ten says, “In just a little while, the wicked will be no more; though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there.”
Let go of the pain, let go of the people who have hurt you, be set free and watch, those who have done you wrong will just seem to fade away in our minds.
Prayer:
Lord God, I wait on You and while I am waiting, I will not rehearse the wrongs that have been done to me, that just keeps them fresh in my mind. I choose today to let them go and I will believe and rely on only You to be my source of all that is good. I depend on You to vindicate me. In the Mighty name of God, Amen!
