How We View the World

Luke 6: 41-42 ESV
“Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?  How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye?”

We were all made differently. Each person has their own fingerprints, no one’s fingerprint is the same. Each person has their own peculiarities, and we all have our own interpretations of what is going on in the world and how we see reality.

The commonality among Christian believers is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit that lives within us. God’s word is our guide and our handbook for life. God’s word tells of the history of mankind connected with God, reality of life and how we should be living. About what the future holds for all of God’s children, as well as those who refuse to believe.

Jesus said, “Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?” Basically why do we find fault with our brother’s and sister’s opinions and views and not look within ourselves and find out if our views are correct or not correct? That would save a lot of arguments!!!

Then He says in verse 42, “…first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye.” First check out your own opinions and views to see if they line up with God’s word, then you can help your bother or sister check out their opinions and views.

This makes me want to keep my mouth shut until I figure out if my opinion and views check out with God’s word and before I spout off vocally that someone else’s views are wrong.

Prayer:
Lord make me like You, please make me like You, You are perfect, I am imperfect and flawed. In Your name Lord, I humble myself to You, Amen!
