Continual Thankfulness
Psalms 28:7 ESV
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to Him.”
I believe that we can all echo Davids words in this Psalm, God is our strength and our shield. He is the one that keeps us going another day, another step, holding on to His unchanging hand.
Habakuk said, “God, the Lord, is my strength; He makes my feet like the deer’s; He makes me tread on my high places.” In other words, God is the one that get’s us through the rough patches in our lives.
David said in Psalms 3:3, “But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.” David considered that God was his protector, and his vindicator. If we can’t trust anyone else, we can trust in God! David said in this passage, “…in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults…”
In other words, even when my head cannot get in line, my heart knows that God is the one I can trust because He has helped me more times than I can count. Therefore, the praise will come from my heart to my lips.
So, in my heart the song will begin, and my heart will praise Him. I just hope and pray that our lips, hands, and head can get in line with our heart, and we shout and raise our hands to praise God for His goodness. Let the praises and thanksgiving to God begin in our hearts, as we spontaneously sing praises to God this morning.
Prayer:
Father, You are the glory and the lifter of my head, and I sing a song of praise to You this morning. I do not ever want to lose that song that bubbles in my heart for You! In Your name Lord God Almighty I pray, Amen!
