Transformation
Romans 12:2 ESV
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…”
Conformity doesn’t typically happen all at once; it happens over a period of time. When I was a young boy, I had no great knowledge of the world so what I knew of the world came from my parents and my five brothers.
My parents were godly people. We lived out our Christian existence at home as well as at church. There was no difference, no distinction, basically I conformed to that way of life.
For me as the youngest, I had my pick of seven personalities in our home. As a young boy, that adaptation was not clear at times, but what you see the most, is what you become.
As I got older and had worldly friends, things veered off course and I found myself lost, that conformity almost killed me. I had to have a transformation take place to get back where I belonged.
As I began to draw closer to God, the more I began to study His word. The more I was involved in church, and the more I went to Him in prayer all day long, a transformation began to took place in my life. Godly influences in my life also helped transform me, my wife being the best example.
For us all, becoming who God wants us to be may seem foreign, sometimes hard to achieve but necessary in a vile world. Transforming ourselves to be more like Him will take constant prayer. Reading the Word, living out the Word, meditating on God and worshiping God corporately and in private.
Prayer:
Transform my thoughts, transform my life, let me be a reflection of Your glory! In Your Gracious, Mighty, Holy, name Lord God, Amen!
