Hope and Help

Psalms 43:1,3,5
“Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people, from the deceitful and unjust man deliver me! Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to your dwelling! Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my Salvation and my God.”

At times, we want people to vindicate us, but that vindication or validation is just temporary. When God vindicates us, He takes on that vindication at all times and forever. Only He continuously upholds, only He will fight our battles, only He will stand up for our cause.

David asks God to vindicate him and then he asks God to send out His light. God’s light is hope in a dark world, it is reason, purpose, a designed plan. His light leads, guides, directs and shows us a path that we must walk on to get back to the place where we belong, a place where we sense His pleasure.

Then David says something that I used to find curious, He speaks to himself and says, “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? But I understood quite a while ago what David was doing.

He was speaking into his life to stop being anxious or depressed or having that feeling of just being worn out from life, he says then, “hope in God.” That is where everything has to stop, and we decide we are going to get off the merry-go-round of life and trust God.

David ends this thought with, “For I shall again praise Him, my Salvation and my God.” That is where we find strength, hope, security, and we rise above the ashes, by praising God and knowing that He is our Salvation today.

Prayer:
Lord, I need You, oh, I need You, every hour I need You, oh bless me now my Savior, I come to You. In Your name Lord God Almighty, I cry out in praise, Amen!
