God is Still Speaking
Jeremiah 33:3 NLT
“Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.”
God encourages Jeremiah to ask for further revelations of his plans for his people (3:1-3). Because of his imprisonment, Jeremiah may not know what is happening in and around the city, but God shows him that the people of Jerusalem are desperate.
It is an astounding fact that the Creator of the whole universe knows you and me. It is even more astounding that He wants to hear from us. If that were not incredible enough, He promises to answer us when we call on Him.
Will God really reveal things to us, things that we did not know, maybe even things we needed to be warned about? Yes, but not for selfish gain. Nor will He tell us things that will get us away from trusting Him completely. If God revealed everything to us, we would stop trusting, stop asking, stop listening. But He will reveal things to us.
Have you ever dreamed of someone that you haven’t seen in years, or saw someone that you haven’t seen in years? Your first thought is; “wow, that was neat, I haven’t seen them in so long,” and you think it was a coincidence. Was it really a coincidence or an occasion to pray for them, encourage them, maybe even witness to them and maybe even pray for them?
I have had that happen so many times I can’t count them. Think about it, will God reveal things to us? Yes He will, just pay close attention.
Prayer:
Here am I Lord, send me, reveal Your perfect will for me today. Help me to meet every divine appointment You set up. In Your name Lord, Amen!
