Let Me Hear in the Morning

Psalms 143:8 ESV
“Cause me to hear Your loving-kindness in the morning, for on You do I lean and in You do I trust. Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk, for I lift up my inner self to You.”

Verse six is my prayer, that I would hear God’s loving kindness in the morning, every morning. This can only happen if we start the day by praising God in our words, or singing a praise song to Him, or taking a few minutes of devotion in reading His Word.

We can’t be in a hurry, just sing a simple song to Him or read a few verses and give Him proper thanks for the new day! Starting the day on a good note is important for the rest of the day, to set the day on the right path.

David adds in verse nine; “Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk…” This will take getting close to God. The closer we get to God, the easier it is to sense when, where, and how we should be going about our way. That’s the reason David said, “…For I lift up my inner self to you.”

Letting God on the inside of our hearts and minds will effect every decision we make. That will make our paths straight!

Prayer:
Lord, cause me to hear Your loving-kindness in the morning as I lean on You and put my full trust in You. Set in order my footsteps and all my decisions today!
