The Praise God Deserves
2 Samuel 6: 13-15 ESV
“So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom to the city of David with rejoicing. And David danced before the Lord with all his might… So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the horn.”
David got over his anger with God and his fear, and David set out to bring the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem this time in a way that God deserved. The priests had the poles and bore the ark just as God had prescribed.
This time, in reverence to God, David sacrificed before the Ark when the priest only took 6 steps. David had people playing instruments and David danced and leaped in exuberant worship before the Ark.
In South Florida we had a group of 50 Catholics that would come to our pentecostal church on Sunday morning second service. They were truly the life of the worship service. The reserved Pentecostals were taken back by this group that would take up the front center section. They sang loudly, worshipped with hands lifted high and occasionally danced.
I was inspired by this group, they knew the best way to celebrate the God’s presence. Give God your best praise and worship!
Prayer:
Father, please help me to let go and worship You like You deserve!
