Walking by Faith or What You See?
2 Corinthians 5:7
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
Paul was talking about what we must do while we are living in these earthly bodies. We can’t drag around moping and disconcerted that we are here and that we would rather be with Jesus. We are here by divine appointment. We have a call, a mission to fulfill. So in light of the fact that we are here and not in Glory, we will walk by faith.
It’s not as if we are walking around blindly, waiting on directions. Abraham had to walk by faith because he heard God and knew what God wanted him to do. We walk by faith because we have Jesus living in our hearts and the Holy Spirit guiding us and the Bible telling us how we should be, who we represent, what God expects of us.
If we are confused about our orders, it’s not God’s fault, He has given us EVERYTHING we need to make the most of this life in the quest of eternal life coming soon. Walking by sight is depressing and only fulfills our flesh. Walking by the Spirit gives us real life and peace for our heart, mind and Spirit.
Prayer:
Lord, I know that while I am at home in the body I am away from You and I would rather be away from the body and at home with the You. But for now, help me to walk by faith, not by physical sight of my reality, but by trust in You for every step of every day.
