Jesus the Servant Messiah
Mark 10:33,35 ESV
“…But whoever would be great among you must be your servant… For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Face it, most people do not want to be servants, nor do they want to be called servants, but that is who we are to be to one another in the body of Christ. Even the Shepherds (pastors) are called to be servants for Christ. If the pastor cannot lead as Christ lead, if they cannot serve as Christ served, they are not true Shepherds (pastors).
We have to lead the way so others can follow.
John 13:4-14 ESV “He (Jesus) laid aside His outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around His waist. Then He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around Him.
When He had washed their feet and put on His outer garments and resumed His place, He said to them, “Do you understand what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I Am. If I then, Your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.”
Prayer:
Thank You Lord Jesus, You are Lord, Master and Savior, yet still a Servant to show me who I am supposed to be to my brothers and sisters in Christ!
