1 Peter 5:6-7 ESV
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”

The first part of this verse makes a lot of people cringe because they see themselves cowering under the mighty hand of God instead of humbling themselves under the mighty hand of God. So why would we humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God?

The next part of this passage says, “so that at the proper time He (God) may exalt you.” He knows everything about your life, past, present and future. He knows where you are in your path of life, and when you will be at your best. So, don’t fight Him, give your life to Him.

The last part of of this passage says, “casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.” At face value this statement doesn’t seem to fit but look at it this way; When you humble yourself before God you cast ALL your cares, anxieties, worries and fears on Him.

So you could see it like this; humble yourself under the mighty hand of God by casting all your cares on Him. Then He can exalt you (hold you up in high regard before God and man) in life, love, in spirit and in your heart and mind.

Prayer:
Father teach me to give everything to you, holding nothing back. Then you can perform miracles and blessings in my life.
