Matthew 6:22-23 NLT
“Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!”
Simply put; the way we perceive things is linked to what we believe to be true. I may look at a cloudy day and say, “great, maybe it won’t be so hot today!” You may look at a cloudy day and say, “great, another gloomy day.”
Neither is wrong, it’s just a matter of perception. However, if one sees a friend or brother in need and says in his heart, “I need to do something to help them.” Their eye or perception is healthy and full of light. But if one sees a friend or brother in need and says in their heart, “Let them take care of themselves I have needs of my own.” Then their eye or perception is dark.

Jesus said, “When your eye is healthy (your outlook), your whole body is filled with light, (good thoughts, your estimation of things look good.) Jesus ends this segment with, If our eye is dark how great is that darkness? Will it make your whole life miserable?
Prayer:
Father, teach me today to see things through your eyes with with hope, with faith, with assurance that You have everything in your control, if I give You control.
