Psalms 23:1-3a ESV
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul…”
How does God restore our souls? First He has to be our Shepherd, the one we trust in, the one we depend on, the one who bought us with a price. Then we know that He will do anything to bring us peace. He will do anything to bring us back to the green pastures that feed us and bring us comfort. He will do anything to lead us to still waters where we can be refreshed. He will do anything to bring us back from where we were when we first fell in love with Him.
To restore means “to repair, or return to a former condition.” Since God is the one who made us, only He can restore us, because only He knows what we truly need. What has Satan stolen from us, from what height did he trip us up? God can restore us to our former glory or, even bring us a greater glory.
Prayer:
Father, this life has had so many pitfalls, so many stumbling blocks. But you and only you know how to restore my inner self to where I should be.
