Genesis 37:5
“Now Joseph had a dreamā¦”
God had given Joseph dreams that one day he would be the ruler over his family. Joseph’s brothers became angry with Joseph and his dreams and sold Joseph into slavery to get rid of him. At this point it had to look impossible for Joseph to achieve his God given dreams.
Then Joseph was sold to Potiphar, andĀ things began to look promising for Joseph. Until Potiphars wife lied about Joseph and he ended up in the bottom of the prison. Once again, the dreams seemed impossible.
Things began to look up when Joseph interpreted a dream for the chief cup bearer to Pharoah. According to the cupbearers dream he was to get his job back. All Joseph asked was for the cupbearer to tell Pharoah what he had done for him, but the cupbearer forgot about Joseph for two years. Once again, hopes and dreams were crushed.
Then Pharoah dreamed a dream but no one could interpret the dream, then the cupbearer remembered Joseph. Joseph was brought from prison, and interpreted Pharoah’s dream. Joseph ultimately became second in command in Egypt and eventually ruler over his family. Thirteen years had passed between Joseph the slave to Joseph the ruler.
What may seem impossible with man is always possible with God. It will take faith, patience and trust, but God will fulfill the dreams He gave you!
Prayer:
Father, fulfill the dreams of mine and all of those who read this devotion. In God we trust!
