Jeremiah 23:6 AMP

“In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called… Jehovah Tsidkanu. “The Lord Our Righteousness”

In the time of Jeremiah the prophet, people were living in sin and idolatry and their land was oppressed on all sides by violence. The spiritual leaders were confused and scattered. The prophets were lying to the people rather than proclaiming God’s Truth.

Righteousness was a distant concept. This was three thousand years ago but it kind of sounds like the world today. God promised Jeremiah there would be a righteous king one day, King Jesus, our righteousness. He brings the right in righteousness in a time where there is so much wrong, confusion and opposition against God!
