Romans 8: 3-5 ESV

“For God… by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

We could never EVER live up to the the requirements of the law. So, God sent His Son in the flesh to condemn the sin that is involved in the flesh. When Jesus paid the price for our sins, He made a way for us to live in righteousness. So when we walk in the Spirit and not the flesh with it’s evil desires we are made righteous because of Jesus’ sacrifice.
