Psalms 63:7 ESV
“When I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy.”
David lived a violent and troubled life, but he wrote in this psalm about a time when he felt secure, and at peace. He describes times like this as a time in the shadow of God’s wings. David needed to remember these times to over shadow the atrocities that he went through. Think back to the time you felt the most peace, the time you felt the most secure. Now imagine what it is like to be in the shadow of God’s wings. There you will find rest!
