Spiritual Insight

Isaiah 42:16
“And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them.”

God’s promise to Israel was to give them spiritual sight. What is spiritual sight? Being able to see through the Spirit of God the reality of life in the Spirit, and the ability to navigate this world intelligently.

Israel had walked in darkness for so long. God sent prophet after prophet to guide them in their quest, but unfortunately, they rebelled and turned away from God.

We call it “biting the hand that feeds you.” “Biting the hand that feeds you” is a proverb that warns against acting ungrateful towards someone who is helping you or has helped you in the past.

God wanted Israel to trust Him and He would abundantly supply for them. He wanted Israel to seek after Him and love Him, but they acted like He did not exist.

Our society is the same. The ones who needed God in the past, and He provided, have forgotten what God has done. He would graciously keep supplying if we would maintain the relationship by talking to Him, seeking His word, trusting and praising Him, but we are too busy for God.

Some do not even think about God until they are in trouble. Then all of the sudden they cry out to God and ask, “where are You God?”

Take this promise to heart for you and your situation and for your family, “I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground.”

Prayer:
Lord, I pray I am never too blind to see through Your eyes. I pray I never forget what You have done for me. I pray I never fall out of love with You or Your words. I want to enjoy Your presence all the days of my life and maintain a close relationship with You always. I love You Lord, Amen!
