Psalms 65: 5,7 ESV
“By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness, O God of our salvation… who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples…”

By awesome deeds God answers our prayers, God doesn’t just make promises, he answers us with the things we need to live life and to live a godly life. He is a God who calms the forces of nature and calms those who are anxious and out of control.

I’m Mark 4:37-40, the disciples and Jesus were in a boat crossing the Sea of Galilee when a storm came up on the sea. Jesus was asleep in the boat when a storm came up and the disciples did all they could to keep the boat from sinking or turning over.

The disciples came to Jesus and woke him up and he got up and rebuked the wind and the waves. Immediately the sea was calm and the disciples were calm as well.

This verse says that God will “still the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, the tumult of the peoples…” After calming the sea, Jesus calmed His disciples and asked them why they did not have faith. God can calm the elements, but what He would rather do is calm us and develope our faith in Him.

Prayer:
Father, you have given me a measure of faith, teach me to exercise my faith. Yes, You will calm the storms in this life, but I know You want me to be calm first and trust you!
