The Veil Will Be Lifted
2 Corinthians 3:15-16 ESV
“Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.”
Paul is speaking about those who cannot see the truth of God, especially when it concerns Jesus the Christ. The staunch Jews do not believe that Jesus was the Messiah, to this day. Many Jews have converted to Christianity but for the majority of the Jews they believe Jesus was a prophet but not the Messiah.
Our goal as christians should be for all in our circle of influence to turn to Jesus. That He will be their Lord and Savior, especially our family members.
What is this veil that needs to be lifted? Ignorance of the truth. The Jews in the Old Testament for years did not listen to and adhere to God. The Jews of the New Testament rejected Jesus as the Messiah. Today the Jewish people and over half the population of this world do not believe in Jesus Christ, that He is our Savior, Lord, Master and King.
People have chosen to reject the truth. Their eyes are closed, and they are blinded by the lies that satan has told them. That there is no God, that this world is all there is, that there is no eternity or hope or future beyond this life.
For us, the veil has been lifted, we have turned to the Lord, and we know the truth found in Jesus Christ. Now, our mission is to influence those in our circle of influence that Jesus can be their hope and Savior.
Prayer:
Lord, we have a lot of people in our lives that need You. They have been blinded by the veil of the enemy so they cannot see and know the truth. As we witness with our words and the way we live our lives in Your service, remove the veil from their hearts. Help them see You in us and come to know You as their Savior and Lord. In Your name Lord Jesus, we ask, and we praise You for the answer, Amen!
