I Will Not be Shaken
Psalms 62:1-2 ESV
“For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.”
Typically we do not wait very patiently for God to come to our rescue. We want deliverance to be instantaneous, on demand, and when we feel like it should show up.
When our children were growing up, they were not patient. So, it was our job as parents to teach them patience. After all, when they were grown up and on their own, they needed to understand that life will try their patience.
Not everything came when they wanted it to nor how they wanted it to come. It wasn’t being mean, it was called being a responsible parent.
We as adults have found out life doesn’t always work the way we want it to but if we wait on the Lord, He will bring us good things when we need it. He alone is our source, our strength, our ever present help.
David adds; “He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.” When we wait on God, trust Him, lean on Him, hold tightly to Him, we will not be shaken.
Prayer:
Father, not everything goes my way, but I know I can trust You. For every good and perfect gift is from above and comes down from You. You satisfy me with good things, You are my Rock, I will never be shaken because I cling to You!
