Making the Father Proud

Proverbs 23:15-16 ESV
“My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad indeed; my inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak what is right.”

Solomon said to his son in this verse what would give him great delight as a father. When we are wise in our thoughts it is great, when we are wise in our spirit, it shows up in our heart, which in turn shows up in our words and actions. This kind of wisdom shows that we have been in the presence of the Father.

Every time we act wisely, our Father is glad, so glad that He rejoices. Imagine that the God of all creation, the God of the universe and stars, the God that created life from nothing rejoices over us when our heart is wise.

When we make mistakes, or fall or falter in our walk, He is still proud of us when we get back up and try again and again. Today, make God glad as He watches over our lives and hearts. Hear the Father rejoicing as we make the right decisions, do the right things, act with integrity, and avoid pit falls.

Prayer:
Father, today, guide my heart to do Your perfect will. Guide my words, my thoughts and actions and reactions. Let me hear You rejoicing loudly over me today, Father, Amen!
