Be Strong and Courageous

Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

If there is one thing that I have learned from my walk with the Lord, it is that I do not have to be afraid of the things of this world, God is the keeper of my soul and spirit. It is true, this life has a lot of scary experiences and it’s share of troubles, but Jesus said that He has overcome the world (John 16:33).

Moses is speaking to the next generation of Israelites in this passage. This group will experience things they had never seen before. God will openly show up and show out in their lives in ways unimaginable.

The concept of this message is to be strong and courageous, something that has to derive from God in us. The meat of this message is that the Lord God goes with us everywhere and at all times, there is no need to fear.

Is there something that you are fearing? Be strong and courageous, the Lord is with you! Is there something that seems to be overwhelming in your life? Be strong and courageous, the Lord is by your side. Is there an insurmountable object in your path? Be strong and courageous! Is anything too hard for the God that is in you?

Prayer:
Lord God, all my fears are unfounded in the light of Your glory and grace. Who can truly harm me that You will not see and avenge. Who or what in this life can separate me from Your presence? No one Lord! I put my trust in You, make me strong and courageous Lord. In Your mighty name Lord God, Amen!
