Remembered
Psalms 112:6 ESV
“For the righteous will never be moved; he (or she) will be remembered forever.”
What will people remember about me when I’m gone to meet the Lord. Will they remember the good that I have done, or the work of the Lord that I have done? Will some remember the bad that I have done, maybe the times when I did not do exactly what I should have done? Will they remember the Jesus that is in my heart, or will they remember the times when I acted out in the flesh?
I was thinking about what a good name is. How people used to call people a name that reflected who they were, or what they did, or what kind of person they were. All in all, we want to leave a great legacy for people to remember. What a great parent we were, what a good sibling we were, or a great aunt or uncle we were. This verse says that the righteous will be remembered forever. Let’s leave a great legacy for people to remember. Leave with them good attitudes, gracious words, beautiful songs that we have written or sung, words that we have written, things that lift hearts.
Prayer:
Lord, we want You to be our legacy that we leave. We want people to remember You in us, You in our words, actions, in our songs, and writings. Be our living legacy Lord, In Your name, Lord Jesus, we ask, amen!
