Habakkuk 3:16 ESV
“God, the Lord, is my strength; He makes my feet like the deer’s; He makes me tread on my high places.”
First there must be a declaration spoken or unspoken, it sets the tone and the goal to begin a task with a declaration. “God, the Lord, is my strength…” is a great place to start the day or the journey.
This is a statement of reliance on God, the ultimate source of power and strength, rather than personal abilities or past accomplishments. It underscores God’s greatness, power and faithfulness to His people. It shows a dedication to God and a dependency on God.
The statement, “He makes my feet like the deer’s…” This metaphor describes the stability, swiftness, and agility that we receive from God to move through life’s challenges. Like a deer that moves surely on rocky terrain, God provides secure footing and the ability to navigate obstacles that we face.
“He makes me tread on my high places.” This portion of the verse is talking about signifies triumph, and a higher awareness over difficulties. It represents victory over struggles like doubt, fear, and worry, defeat, and.anxiety.
Prayer:
Lord, You are our strength today. Make our journey today become attainable by Your great power. Give us the ability to rise above the challenges that we face whether they are physical, mental or spiritual. Make our resolve to be in You as we surmount the difficulties that life brings. Strengthen us to rise above doubt, worries, fear or anxieties. We ask this in Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
