Hold fast

Philippians 2:14-16a ESV

“Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life…”

We live in a world of grumbling, complaining, fighting, disputes and wars, what the world does not need to see is Christians acting the same way. We are shining lights in a dark world, or we should be. It is hard sometimes not to let people get under our skin, but it happens. Instead of arguing and trying to get people to see your side of the situation, let the Holy Spirt work and His work will be perfect. Most of the time we are not going to be successful in changing someone’s mind, but the Holy Spirit can, and it will be perfect. Hold fast to the words of truth in God’s word, live your lives above reproach, shine as beacons of light for Jesus. Do good, love those who hate you, pray for those who despitefully use you.

Prayer:

Lord, my privilege is to serve You, to live for You, to represent You. For me to act foolish toward a brother or sister in the Lord would be a blight to Your name. Never let me be argumentative, help me to be gracious towards my brothers and sisters in Christ. In Your name, Lord Jesus, I ask, amen.
