God is Faithful

Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

2 Timothy 2:13 ESV
“If we are faithless, He remains faithful-for He cannot deny Himself.”

We learn to trust God by getting to know His characteristics. We study His word to know what He likes and what He dislikes. We see what makes Him happy and what disappoints Him. Then we see God’s faithfulness and we begin to trust Him, respect Him, and we understand,

He is always faithful and always will be faithful. As we study His word and we watch how He is working in our lives, we begin to hear His voice in our inner spirit. As Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, I know them and they follow Me.” (John 10:27 ESV) As we hear the Father’s voice enough, we begin to distinguish His voice from the tempters voice and we know we can trust God and not trust the voice of a stranger.

We begin to understand that God never lies, never leaves us alone, and He never changes. We build a trusting relationship at this point, we see He will always be true, always be sovereign, always be holy, He will never ever fail us.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your faithfulness, even when I was not faithful to You. Thank You for showing me who You are and for speaking to me every day until at last, I learned Your voice.
