Being Renewed Day by Day

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NIV
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

The real you and me are the persons we are inside our hearts and our spirits. We live in earthly tabernacles, flesh and blood, but the real us are our spirits.

We may be getting older and we may see in the mirror someone that looks much different than the person we were when we were young adults. Quite frankly we are hopefully wiser and more sensible than we were when we were just stepping out in the world as teenagers or young adults.

If Paul is accurate in his assessment, and we are being renewed day by day. It doesn’t matter what we see in the mirror. What matters is what we have going on in our hearts and my spirits. Especially if we have the Spirit of God living in us, and especially if we are progressing in our walk with the Lord.

“So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” In light of this, we walk by faith, with courage, with integrity, and confidence, knowing God’s destiny for our lives are for our good here on earth. Knowing the end results as we walk in His way will lead us to life eternal with Him forever.

Prayer:
Lord, my time here on earth is just a moment compared to eternity with You. But I want to walk in Your way, with Your strength, in Your integrity. I want to be everything that You want me to be. I want to achieve what You have planned for me despite the things in this life that trip me up. I fix my eyes on You Lord, Amen!
