Psalms 30:5 NLT
“For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.”
Sin always seperates us from God. On the cross Jesus said as He was dying, “My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?” It wasn’t that Jesus had sinned, but He took our sins and carried them on the cross to make ammendment for us forever.
Now we still have to endure discipline as children for sin, but forgiveness is immediately available. God’s anger of sin in our life is because He loves us and He wants us to stay in fellowship with Him perpetually.
Sin seperates us from God. God loves the sinner but hates the sin because sin in our lives is showing signs of the fall of man, tempted by evil. God’s anger lasts only for a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime!
He is constantly drawing us back in right relationship with Him. So, when judgment comes from sin, “Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” When sin is forgiven we are right back where we belong, in God’s presence.
With our earthly fathers, they may have disciplined us and stayed angry for a few days but with God, when forgiveness is sought, we gain immediate acceptance in His presence. Where there is fullness of joy.
Prayer:
Father, thank you for loving me as Your son. I know I’m not always perfect, I do fall and falter and You discipline me because You love me. Thank You!
