Rescue the Perishing

Proverbs 24: 11-12 CBE
“Rescue those being taken off to death; and from those staggering to the slaughter, do not hold back. If you say, “Look, we didn’t know about it,” the one who weighs hearts—doesn’t he understand? The one who protects your life—he knows. He makes people pay for their actions.”

When I see this passage, I think of so many every day that have no idea of what the end of time involves. For the righteous, those who have received Christ as Savior, confessed their sins, asked Jesus to come into their heart and life, and are walking with Him daily, it will be eternal bliss. For those who refuse to believe in Jesus, there will be eternal separation from God and His glory, to me that would be torment but there will be more torment that follows.

Solomon admonishes us to watch the lives of those around us and pull them from the fire. He says reach the lost, the unsaved, the dying without God. Just saying we did not know they were heading for eternal destruction will not be an excuse if we are actively spreading the gospel.

We cannot make anyone receive Jesus, but we can compel them. God will judge our hearts if we cared, if we shared, and if we gave people the opportunity to believe in Jesus.

Prayer:
Lord it is not just my privilege to share Jesus with everyone, it is my duty as a true child of God. You cared enough to bring me back to You, help me to care about the lost, the perishing without God. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
