“Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”

Why is it most Christians do not read God’s word, much less understand it and keep it.

3 reasons: We’ve already determined in our mind that we’re not going to understand the word of God. Mostly because that’s what everybody says.

Second reason, We are so busy in this society we rarely take time to read God’s word. I would suggest if you can’t do the one year read through the Bible programs take one chapter a day. I realize there are some long chapters in the Bible and if you want to cut those chapters in half and read one half one day and the other half the next day that’s fine. There are 450 English translations of the Bible, one will speak to you.

The last reason, we have no comprehension of what it means for God to really love us and to manifest himself to us. If we did we would clamor for his word everyday in order for him to reveal himself to us. And He will reveal Himself to us when we seek Him in His word.
