Ecclesiastes 7:14 AMP
“In the day of prosperity be joyful, But in the day of adversity consider that God has made the one as well as the other…”
When things are going well it’s easy to be happy, relaxed, at peace. However, when things are going wrong we wonder where God is at, what did we do wrong, where’s the favor of God? Why does there have to be adversity in our lives, why do some things have to be tough to work through?
We learn to endure through adversity, and we learn how to work through hard times and how to depend on God through those rough times. It makes us appreciate the good times. It teaches us how to look forward to times of peace and serenity and prosperity. We learn not to take the softer times for granted.
God made both the good times and the times of adversity. Unfortunately we learn more through the tough times than we do the good times.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for the peaceful times and the times where I’m completely at rest. But You know me, and You know those times of trials and the uncomfortable situations of life are what has built my character. The times that were hard is how I learned to hold on to You and trust in You. Thank You for the good times, thank You for the tough times, You made them both!
