As For Me and My House

Joshua 24:15 NIV
“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Joshua basically drew a line in the sand with the children of Israel. He told them to make up their minds and choose who they were going to serve. He took a stand that represented not just him and His wife, but His children and his children’s children as well.

I don’t know if all of Joshua’s family wanted to serve God at this point, but Joshua was making a proclamation, “As for me and my house we WILL serve the Lord, at some point, they WILL all serve the Lord.

So, this morning I have a few children, which includes my niece who is like one of our children, they do not serve the Lord. They all believe in the Lord, they have all walked with the Lord at one point of their lives, but that is not good enough for me and my wife. So, as for me and my household, all of our children and grandchildren, we WILL serve the Lord. I speak it by faith, I proclaim it as the truth, and I believe God will bring it to pass in His time.

Prayer:
Lord, as for me and my household, we WILL serve You. Drive back the forces of darkness from our children and grandchildren. Open up their eyes and let them see You and accept You and come running back to You and live for You! I proclaim it in the name of Jesus our Savior, Amen!
