Caring for Others

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 NLT
“If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.”

Basically, Paul is saying, gifts, prophecies or supernatural abilities will accomplish much for God, but if we cannot express our love for others and show them that we care, what is the greater action for one another.

Theodore Roosevelt once said, “Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.”

We can live righteously, holy and devout, but if we cannot love others and care for them and their needs, are we really showing people the heart of God through Christ Jesus in us?

Show people that we care, give them love and then we can give them Jesus.

Prayer:
Lord, You have loved us with a great love, even when we did not deserve You. You showed us You cared by your compassion, mercy and grace. You accepted us when we were down and out. You showed us You cared for us even when others did not. We owe You everything, including paying forward what You did for us. We love You Lord Jesus, Amen!
