Proverbs 11:25 ESV
“Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.”

When I was in my early twenties, I was in a bad place, but I had a couple of close friends that poured wisdom into my life. The wisdom they gave didn’t settle into my life until a few years down the road. When I did let their advice and wisdom settle in, it made a difference in my life. Unfortunately, by the time the advice and counsel took hold, those friends were in another city with no way of contacting them. So, I repaid them for their advice by working in a local church as a youth Pastor, pouring myself into their lives.

Even though there was no instant gratification being a youth pastor, years later I heard from many of those youth that I had made a difference in their lives. When you give godly advice, it may seem like the recipient is not listening or at least not responding but understand, godly advice, true godly advice, has a way of finding its way through even the hardest of hearts.

For your faithfulness, Solomon says, “…one who waters will himself be watered. If we are faithful to put godly wisdom into someone’s life, God will bring someone to pour into your life when you need it.

Prayer:
Father, I don’t want to speak mere words to someone in need, I want to give godly counsel. Use me, speak through me!
