God Will Deal with Sin, but He Will Restore
Amos 9:14 ESV
“And I will bring my people Israel back from exile.“They will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them. They will plant vineyards and drink their wine; they will make gardens and eat their fruit.”
Israel deserved the punishment to be exiled from their home country, but God NEVER stopped blessing, never stopped supplying. Never stopped working in their midst even in Babylon. When God brought Israel out of their punishment, He gave them every opportunity, every resource to succeed. All He asked was that they stayed true to Him, and rebuild the temple.
Neither happened immediately. Sixteen years into their return to Israel the temple only had a foundation. Howwver, the people did have houses and lands and vineyards and they did eat of the produce. All this as God had prophecied, but they did not hold up their part of the bargain. Eventually the new temple was built but it took another scourging to get it done.
God will judge, like He did with Israel, but when He brings us back, He will give us every opportunity and every resource that we need to suceed. All He requires is for us to stay true to Him, serve Him with our whole heart and obey. God judges and God restores, that’s just who He is, He just wants loyalty from us.
Prayer:
Father, we all lose our way at times, but what I love about You, You always bring us back home to You. You always draw us to You, always bless, always provide. Thank you for being a just, loving, restoring Father.
