Romans 818 ESV
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”
Let’s be honest, sometimes this life is tough. It can be a lot to handle, a lot to take in, but we were never promised roses and lilacs. We were never promised ease and pleasures. We were promised joy, because joy is given by God and is from within and it is not manufactured by events, or by what people do or don’t do.
We were promised peace, if we keep our mind and our spiritual eyes stayed on Jesus. We can achieve contentment through God. Philippians 4:12-13 says, I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound.
In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” What I consider the greatest promise is that God will be with us to gives us strength and help when we need it.
Psalms 46:1 ESV,
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Prayer:
Father, Your Son told us that in this world we would have tribulation, but He also said, “…take heart! I have overcome the world.” In that I trust this morning.
