Doing the Right Thing
James 4:17 NIV
“If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.”
Have you ever been in a position where you knew that you were supposed to do something for someone or possibly say something good to someone to help them and lift their spirit? I think if we were honest with ourselves, we know we have all been in these situations more than we care to admit.
I thought of someone early this morning that I had not seen in a long time. We were never close but that doesn’t matter. I quickly said a prayer for them asking earnestly that God would heal them or supply their needs according to His riches in glory. I probably will never see this person again, but I believe they came to my mind for a reason as a part of God’s divine will.
In another situation, I was inclined to send someone an uplifting message. The day was a hard day, and it did not seem like I had the time to think and type out a message of hope and reassurance. But if it was me that needed the message of hope, I would want someone to send me a message if God prompted them to do so.
If someone comes to Your mind, pray. If it is in your power to send a message, send a message. If someone is in need of help, help them, lift them up, be there for them. God is trying to use you and I for His work and for His service. Be obedient.
Prayer:
Jesus, use me. In whatever way that You need me to act for You, prompt me, give me the words to say, the message to send, the gift to give. I’m a willing vessel for You. In Your name Lord Jesus, Amen!
